Know all men by these presents that we John F. Jones, Isaac Hellen, George Dill & John P.C. Davis are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in he full sum of ten thousand dollars to the which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves & our heirs as witness our hand and seals this day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said John F. Jones has been appointed Clerk and Master in Equity for the County of Carteret. Now if the said John F. Jones shall well and truly keep safe the records of said.

Ordered that William C. Bell and Thoams Marshall be fined two dollars each for their on attendance at this meeting.
Ordered that the board of Superintendents meet on the third Saturday in each & every month
The board then adjourned.
State of North Carolina 
Carteret County 

Know all men by these presents that we George Dill 
are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the just and full sum of Four Thousand Dollars to be paid to the said State to which payment ____ and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs exwcutors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this day of August AD 1841 
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounder George Dill is elected and appointed Sheriff of Carteret County for the term of two years from the 2nd day of September AD 1840 -----  I therefore the said George Dill shall will and truly collect pay and settle in due time and according to law at the proper office which by law the same ought to be paid and settled all the public taxes which by law he ought to collect pay and settle during his Sheriffatty then the above obligation to be void otherwise to be ___ _______ in full force and effect.
