Sale of Wife - 1804
This is one of those unusual items one periodically comes across at the NC Archives.
I'd sure be interested in the story that goes with this document.
If anyone has information on any of these individuals I'd love to hear about them.  JSR

N.B.  The bill of sale give below is a coppy of the original that is in the archives of the Court House here and is among other papers that was ordered by the Clerk of Court to be recorded in the Register's Office, but for various reasons these papers were not recorded in the Registers Office.
The reason this one was not recorded in said office the Purcher of the woman refused to tag the register's furs (??).  I certify this is a true coppy.     P.B. Loftin
